Stats Of The Week: Biglaw Hiring Looking Up
Law firm hiring is at its most robust since the recession.
NALP data on the most recent law firm recruiting cycle finds that entry-level hiring is at its most robust since the Time of Shedding and Cold Rocks. Nearly all of the 2015 recruiting metrics measured showed an increase, including:
- Summer associate offer rate for full-time positions (95.3%, up from 69% in 2009)
- Number of summer associate position offers made
- Percentage of callbacks resulting in offers
- Number of firms visiting school for OCI
In the words of James Leipold, NALP’s executive director: “After a period of considerable and prolonged slowdown in law student recruiting volumes, for the last two years we have seen strong markers of recovery. There is a scramble for top talent that we have not seen since before the recession.” Check out the full report here.
