Here at Above the Law, we’re always looking for talented new writers to add to our roster as columnists. If you’d like to contribute to our pages, please review our columnist pitch guidelines.
Today we’d like to make a special request for in-house lawyers. We have some great in-house counsel already writing for us — Celeste Harrison Forst, Mark Herrmann, and David Mowry — but given the importance of corporate counsel in the legal profession today, we’d love to have even more representation in our ranks.
If you are an in-house lawyer and talented writer, you can apply for a column by emailing [email protected] (subject line: “In-House Columnist Application”), submitting the following items:
AI Is Reshaping Legal Practice—But Tools Aren’t The Real Differentiator.
Explore the mindset, cultural shifts, and training strategies that define the AI‑savvy lawyer, revealing why human judgment, standardized competence, and integrated learning—not technology alone—will shape the future of the profession.
1. A current résumé or bio (a link to an online bio is fine).
2. A short description of your proposed column, ranging from a paragraph to a page, setting forth your editorial ideas or vision.
Also, if you happen to have a writing sample, ideally along the lines of what you’d like to write for us, we’d welcome it.
We do pay our columnists (although, as we’ve mentioned before, the main rewards of this post are non-monetary). You can write under a pseudonym if you wish, but we prefer that writers use their real names.
