Another Firm Matches Cravath
Keep the raises rolling.
After a blistering evening of 10 salary bumps all announced after 5 p.m., this morning gets off to a rollicking start with a Biglaw mainstay announcing raises just as associates stroll in the door.
Fried Frank has matched the Cravath scale in its New York and D.C. offices (which are, of course, its only U.S. offices). The scale runs up to Class of 2007 receiving $325K, placing Fried Frank on the happy end of the ’07/$325K vs. ’08/$315K debate. That’s fitting because Fried Frank is very much on the “nice” list when it comes to associate compensation, having offered the most hardworking associates bonuses up to $20,000 above the Cravath scale last year.

Summers are of course receiving the bump too. Have we focused yet on how f**king nuts tax day 2017 will be for these summers? That’s when all that money they got taxed upon assuming an annual salary of $180K starts coming back because they made only $60K for the year. Enjoy your splurging.
