Let’s add some context to today’s call for submissions for the inaugural ATL alt.legal Innovation Awards.
Since 2011, the data compiled by the indispensable CB Insights on legal tech financings has shown steady growth in the sector (but nowhere near the explosive rate of FinTech financings). However, the first half of 2016 has seen a steep (74%) drop in legal tech financing activity (when compared to the same period in 2015) with “just” $44M in funding deployed across 25 deals.
