Biglaw Associate Killed In A Hit-And-Run Crash

Karina Pulec, a young associate at Hogan Lovells with a promising future, was killed over the weekend in a hit-and-run crash.

Pulec was a 2013 graduate of Cornell Law School, and had clerked in the Northern District of California before joining the Palo Alto office of Wilson Sonsini Goodrich & Rosati. She lateraled to the Denver office of HoLove in December of last year. The firm sent the following message out to its employees:

It is with great sadness that we let you know that Karina Pulec, an associate in our Denver office, was tragically killed on Saturday evening by a hit-and-run driver near her home. This is a tremendous loss and will be particularly hard for our colleagues in the Denver office.

Karina joined the firm in December and was a member of our IPMT practice. She was a talented lawyer, a great colleague and a wonderful presence in the Denver office. Karina was 28.

Karina’s death will be felt by all of us at the firm. Our thoughts are with her family and her boyfriend, who was also injured on Saturday evening and is recovering. We will let you know about funeral arrangements once we have confirmed them with her family.

As a mark of respect to Karina, we are keeping her details on our intranet page until her funeral.

Our thoughts go out to the family and friends of this young lawyer.
