Mere days after Greenberg Traurig chair Richard Rosenbaum was forced to provide tepid support for partner Rudy Giuliani’s increasingly unhinged media appearances as a Trump surrogate, Giuliani has decided to step away from the firm until after the election.
In an email sent to the firm’s top attorneys, Rosenbaum explains that the former NYC mayor and current festering blister of a human being Rudy Giuliani will take a voluntary leave of absence from Greenberg Traurig effective tomorrow through the rest of the election:
Keeping Law School Accessible When Federal Loans Fall Short
As federal borrowing caps tighten financing options for law students, one organization is stepping in to negotiate the terms they can't secure alone.

In any situation like this, one has to wonder exactly how “voluntary” this move really was. It’s hard to believe Greenberg Traurig bigwigs never once had a sit-down to explain how going on TV to explain how Hillary Clinton was “too stupid to be president” wasn’t putting the firm’s best foot forward.
The comically tragic element of this whole affair is that Giuliani’s decision required calmly evaluating Trump’s electoral chances — and, by extension, Giuliani’s chances of becoming attorney general or some other such Lovecraftian horror — and deciding that he was still going to walk away and leave his partners and clients in the lurch for a few months. Indeed, it would seem Giuliani — if he’s still viewing this rationally at all — enjoys spouting racist and sexist stuff on TV more than his own job.
A lot of people hate Biglaw practice, but most folks don’t hate it that much.
