MCDERMOTT WILL & EMERY — MEMORANDUM — ASSOCIATE BONUSES
2016 Associate Bonuses
Late last week we announced Associate bonuses in all of our U.S. offices. We are pleased that a substantial number of our U.S. Associates have been awarded bonuses that exceed the Cravath scale. In fact, this year 50% of our U.S. Associates will receive bonuses in excess of the Cravath scale including Associates in each class year. The top bonuses in five Associate classes exceed the Cravath scale by at least $60,000.

New executive research from Ari Kaplan explores how law firm leaders are responding to changing client expectations, evolving economics, talent transformation, and AI governance.
Individual bonus determinations are based on an evaluation of an Associate’s performance that includes a comprehensive assessment of quality as well as the Associate’s productivity.
On behalf of the Management Committee that approved these bonuses, I want to thank our Associates for the significant contribution they make in serving our clients. We are delighted to be able to reward their hard work in this way.
