Which Texas Law School Has The Best Bar Exam Results?

After psyching out takers of the July bar exam, leading them to believe their results were available earlier than they actually were, the results of the Texas bar exam have finally been released. By and large the results were pretty good, and consistent with last year’s July results. This year the overall passage rate (first time and repeat takers combined) is 71.78 percent, with first-time takers passing at a rate of 77.86 and repeaters at a rate of 48.18 percent.

But with so many law schools in Texas, the real interest is in the passage rates for each of the individual law schools. Breaking out just the first time test takers, with their historically higher passage rate than repeat takers, reveals some interesting information. If you thought the University of Texas’s ascension to the prestigious T14 in the U.S. News & World Report would mean they’d have the best bar passage rate for first-time test takers, welp, you’d be wrong. Below is the official first time passage rate for each of the Texas law schools:

University of Texas does top the list for repeat takers:
