If Republicans Shut Down The Government, Courts Will Stay Open For 3 Weeks

And the Mueller investigation will keep going so... burn it down then.

The Republican party controls all three branches of government, but as of this moment can’t seem to figure out how to keep the government open. They’re trying to blame Democrats, of course, because the party of personal responsibility does not believe that they are personally responsible for any of their problems. The minority party would vote to keep the government open if President Trump kept his promise and provided protection for the Dreamers, and Trump might make such a deal because he really wants to go play golf and fundraise this weekend. So, stay tuned.

In the meantime, the courts… the only branch of government that is still functional during the Trump era, has a plan to stay open in the event of a shutdown. At least for a time. From the ABA Journal:

The judiciary will be able to continue operations until Feb. 9, according to a spokeswoman for the Administrative Office of the U.S. Courts. Federal courts would remain open using revenues from fees and long-term appropriation, she told Law.com.

The report also says that the Mueller investigation into Trump’s ties with Russia and obstruction of justice will continue.

So, whatever, shut it down. BURN IT DOWN. As Emperor Claudius once said: let all the poisons that lurk in the mud, hatch out. At this point, post-apocalyptic America is preferable to me than living during the present Trumpocalypse.
