Some of you might be thinking, “We’re only law students! We can hit our highlighting just right, but we’re not so sure about hitting high notes. How can we pull this off?”
Well, if your professors can do it, so can you. Feast your eyes upon the Negotiable Instruments, a band composed of tenured professors at the UC Davis Law School, performing at the school’s annual Aokirama talent show. A tipster tells us that band members included: Angela “Malice Aforethought” Harris, Anupam “Crime Against Humanity” Chander, and Madhavi “Patent Infringement” Sunder (faculty vocalists); Carlton “Treason” Larson (piano), Rose “Adverse and Hostile” Villazor (drums); Cappy “Boycott” White (guitar); and guest student vocalist, Tyler “So-Not-A-Gunner” Moran (2L). Professors Lisa Ikemoto and Irene Joe brought out the dry ice and played students in the classroom (along with Villazor’s daughters). Villazor penned the humrous parody lyrics. Check out “Hand of the Gunner,” and enjoy:
