Performance On February 2018 Bar Exam Sinks To Record Low

That percentage [of repeaters] from last year did not rise, but some of those repeaters’ performance dropped from last year, affecting the mean.

Judith Gundersen, president of the National Conference of Bar Examiners, commenting on the poor performance of repeat test-takers on the February 2018 bar exam. Gundersen said that the average score on the February MBE fell 1.3 points from February 2017’s exam. This is the lowest average in more than 10 years. About 70 percent of those who sat for the February exam had already taken the test at least once, and repeat takers’ average score fell 1.7 points from last year’s winter exam.
