It looks like Milbank associates won’t be the only ones with newly minted raises today. Only a couple of hours after Milbank rocked the Biglaw compensation world, California litigation boutique Hueston Hennigan is stepping up with a full match of the Milbank scale.
Close watchers of elite law firms will not be surprised by the move. After all, it was only in December that Hueston Hennigan crushed market bonuses. Back in 2016, during the last round of raises, the boutique was also one of the first to act. This quick action proves the firm’s commitment to staying at the top of the compensation heap is real.

Now the question remains — which firm will be the next to match?
Remember everyone, we depend on your tips to stay on top of this stuff. So when your firm matches, please text us (646-820-8477) or email us (subject line: “[Firm Name] Matches Milbank”). Please include the memo if available. You can take a photo of the memo and send it via text or email if you don’t want to forward the original PDF or Word file.
And if you’d like to sign up for ATL’s Bonus Alerts (which is the alert list we’ll also use for salary announcements), please scroll down and enter your email address in the box below this post.
