The Price Of Doing Business In The U.S.: Magic Circle Firm Increases Associate Salaries

Congrats on the raises!

Allen & Overy has decided its associates in the United States deserve to be compensated like the lawyers at their elite Biglaw peer firms. They recently announced they were getting on board with the new compensation scale made popular by a trio of Biglaw firms this summer, or as we’re calling it, the Milbank/Simpson/Cravath scale.

That means associates at the firm will be taking home $10,000 – $25,000 more, depending on class year.

Class of 2017: $190,000
Class of 2016: $200,000
Class of 2015: $220,000
Class of 2014: $255,000
Class of 2013: $280,000
Class of 2012: $305,000
Class of 2011: $325,000
Class of 2010: $340,000
Class of 2009+: $350,000

Plus there are those delightful special bonuses:

Class of 2017: $5000
Class of 2016: $7500
Class of 2015: $10000
Class of 2014: $15000
Class of 2013: $20000
Class of 2012+: $25000

Remember everyone, we depend on your tips to stay on top of this stuff. So when your firm matches, please text us (646-820-8477) or email us (subject line: “[Firm Name] Raises Salaries”). Please include the memo if available. You can take a photo of the memo and send it via text or email if you don’t want to forward the original PDF or Word file.
