FYI, Pre-Laws: Your School REALLY Matters When It Comes To Your Starting Salary

Sorry, but someone needed to break the news to naive pre-law students.

If you’re at Harvard, Columbia or NYU, you have a much better chance of landing a job at a big law firm that pays a $190,000 starting salary.

Matt Moody, senior law editor at Vault, explaining the very simple reason why not every law student who dreams of an enourmous starting salary will be able to get one. More than 75 law firms increased their salary scales this summer, but that doesn’t mean all law school graduates will stand a chance of receiving those sky-high pay rates.
