Aside from sporadic guerilla hit-and-runs, the Great Biglaw Salary Wars of 2018 seem largely played out. So now let us turn to the topic of solo practitioner and small-firm attorney compensation, a matter of far less transparency yet much greater actual relevance to most lawyers. Law firms employ three-quarters of all attorneys, and 95 percent of them have 20 lawyers or fewer. Reliable, detailed information on compensation for this majority of the profession is scarce. So back in 2016, we published our first ATL Solo and Small Firm Compensation Report. Now it’s time to update our data.
If you work at a law firm employing 50 or fewer attorneys, please take this brief, completely confidential survey. Please pass the survey along to any of your friends at small firms; the more responses we receive, the more reliable and useful the survey findings will be.
Thanks in advance!
