Looks Like We're About To Get A New Attorney General

Jeff Sessions's days at the Justice Department may be numbered.

I think there will come a time, sooner rather than later, where it will be time to have a new face and a fresh voice at the Department of Justice. Clearly, Attorney General Sessions doesn’t have the confidence of the president.

— Lindsey Graham, speaking to reporters yesterday about the mounting tension between the president and his Attorney General, Jeff Sessions. This stance is markedly different than Graham’s position last year, when he said “there will be holy hell to pay” if Donald Trump fired Sessions. Republican leadership appears to be clearing the path for a new Attorney General, as Bloomberg News reports, “Two key Republican senators signaled to President Donald Trump that he could replace Attorney General Jeff Sessions after the midterm elections in November, a move that would open the way for firing Robert Mueller or constraining his probe into Russian meddling in the 2016 election.”
