Cory Booker released a number of “Committee Confidential” documents today, and while that sounds like the world’s worst TLC reality show, it’s actually the designation that the GOP leadership gave to a number of Kavanaugh emails that it felt Senators should be able to see, but that for various reasons should be shielded from the American public.
This isn’t totally crazy — sometimes a nominee might have worked on a national security issue that involves actual top secret intelligence. In this case though, it looks like they just didn’t want anyone to point out that Kavanaugh calls affirmative action a “naked racial set aside.”
