Judicial Candidate Proves Her Toughness By Smacking Her Own Daughter In The Mouth

Why can't she give her the respect she's entitled to?

Winning a judiciary gig in West Virginia requires Republicans prove they have what it takes to be no-nonsense, tough on crime badasses. Seeking a vacant circuit judge position, Wheeling attorney Elgine McArdle punctuates her résumé with a domestic violence petition that her own daughter filed against her — and later withdrew.

Because nothing says “judicial temperament” like a firm commitment to the no wire hangers ever doctrine.

Amazingly, the facts of the event aren’t even in dispute. As the West Virginia Record puts it:

The incident apparently occurred at a Republican Party meeting, according to the Oct. 22 report. The story also says McArdle and the daughter both confirmed the incident. McArdle said she “smacked (her) daughter in the mouth” for being a “smartass.”

The story also claims there were witnesses and that the assault “was widely known by leaders in the Republican Party in West Virginia.”

And we certainly will not tolerate smart talk at a Republican Party meeting!
