Shocking Exactly No One, Anita Hill Doesn’t Think Brett Kavanaugh Should Be On The Supreme Court

Why would a little thing like lying matter anyway?

I wouldn’t confirm [Brett Kavanaugh]… I wouldn’t, because I saw a demeanor that I think was inappropriate for a judge…

Anyone who lies in a Senate Judiciary committee hearing should not be on the Supreme Court.

— Anita Hill, during Fortune’s Most Powerful Women Summit, revealing her position on the wannabe Supreme Court justice. She went on to note that while Dr. Christine Blasey Ford’s testimony was familiar to her own 1991 testimony before the Senate Judiciary Committee, watching it “didn’t feel like me.”

Hill doesn’t seem particularly optimistic about whether the serious character flaws exhibited by Brett Kavanaugh would make a difference to the senators who will vote on his nomination this week, “I have to say, for at least some of the senators, it didn’t seem to matter. It didn’t matter then and it doesn’t seem to matter now.”
