Clients Dish: The Best In Biglaw Client Service
Which firms are among the best of the best?
Which law firms do clients appreciate the most? That’s the real question behind BTI Consulting Group’s Client Service A-Team report, which identifies the top 30 law firms clients identify as having the best client services. To compile the report, BTI spoke with 350 legal decision-makers who were asked to name firms that excelled in the following areas: unprompted communication, commitment to help, understands the client’s business, deals with unexpected changes, deals with complexity, innovative approach, and keeps clients informed.
From those surveys, the BTI team put together the list of the top 30 firms:
- Jones Day
- Skadden
- Latham & Watkins
- DLA Piper
- Gibson Dunn
- Hogan Lovells
- White & Case

Profit Powerhouse: Elevating Law Firm Financial Performance
What’s truly remarkable is that three of the firms — Jones Day, Morgan Lewis, and Sidley Austin — have appeared on the Top 30 list every year BTI has done the report. That’s 18 years of excellence in client service. As BTI Consulting president Michael Rynowecer said of the firms:
“We’ve been through recessions, financial crises, market booms, market busts, and yet they seem to manage to understand clients and be able to continually adjust, and in some cases reinvent, parts of the firm to accommodate the marketplace,” BTI Consulting president Michael Rynowecer said of Jones Day, Morgan Lewis and Sidley Austin.
And Jones Day is no stranger to the top of this ranking. The firm has been tops on the list 11 of the last 18 years, and is currently on a three-year streak at number one.
Congratulations to all the firms making the list!
