One More Bonus Match!

Remember it's imperative that tipsters let us know when firms announce bonuses!

No sooner did we post our list of the richest partners who haven’t matched bonuses yet, than we learn of another firm taking themselves off that list. And while we’d love to think our public shaming post spurred this move, it turns out Weil actually announced bonuses the day before Thanksgiving.

Yes, that’s right. Apparently Weil associates were so busy getting out the door to their turkey dinners, everyone just assumed someone else would report the news to Above the Law. Alas… no one did.

It’s the tragedy of the commons, my friends. Remember, we’re not clairvoyant over here and if you are worried about bombarding us with redundant announcements, don’t be. We’ll happily take 15 rapid fire bonus memo forwards than none at all.

As one might suspect, Weil offered a perfect match of the prevailing Cravath scale.

Class Year 2018 Overall Strong Bonus
2018 $15,000 (prorated)
2017 $15,000
2016 $25,000
2015 $50,000
2014 $65,000
2013 $80,000
2012 $90,000
2011 $100,000
2010 $100,000
2009 & More Senior case by case

Bonuses will be paid on January 31.

Congrats to all the Weil associates.

For everyone else, remember that we depend on your tips to stay on top of this stuff. So when your firm matches, please text us (646-820-8477) or email us (subject line: “[Firm Name] Matches”). Please include the memo if available. You can take a photo of the memo and send it via text or email if you don’t want to forward the original PDF or Word file.

And if you’d like to sign up for ATL’s Bonus Alerts (which is the alert list we’ll also use for salary announcements), please scroll down and enter your email address in the box below this post. If you previously signed up for the bonus alerts, you don’t need to do anything. You’ll receive an email notification within minutes of each bonus announcement that we publish.
