Above the Law has been having a lot of fun with Kim Kardashian’s foray into the legal profession. She says she wants to be a lawyer — and is very public with the work she’s doing to get there — and we are here for it.

The latest edition of Kim Takes Law Schools sees the wannabe lawyer spending some time with crim law. A staple of 1L curriculum, plus in line with Kardashian’s professed interest in criminal justice reform, it shouldn’t come as a surprise that the queen of oversharing decided to share some deets about the latest in her coursework.

But what might be surprising is the content of her latest study materials. Earlier this week Kardashian took to Instagram stories and shared a criminal law issue spotter featuring Justin Bieber, who, in the world of the hypo, traffics in stolen artwork. Also making an appearance are Zayn Malik, Niall Horan and Harry Styles of One Direction fame (Louis Tomlinson and Liam Payne notably do not make an appearance) as possible co-conspirators. And for old school fans of boy bands, Donnie Walberg shows up as an art thief.

Take a look at the issue spotter and see if you can ace the test.

Question 1: The Biebs imports artwork. For years, he has knowingly bought and resold stolen artwork from small museums in Timberlake Land. The Biebs runs gallery in State Bieberville in partnership with his three friends, Zayn, Niall, and Harry. Although they run the gallery together, The Biebs has never told his partners about his criminal activities. Each of his friends, however, has suspected that many of the art pieces were stolen. One day, The Biebs, and his partners — Zayn, Niall, and Harry — picked up a painting sent from London. The Biebs had arranged to be a painting recently stolen by Donnie Walberg, one of his longtime criminal sources, from a small museum in Timberlake Land. The Biebs believed the painting that they picked up was the one that Donnie had stolen, but The Biebs did not share his belief with his partners. Having read an article about the theft of the painting, Zayn also believed the painting that they picked up was the one that Donnie stole, but he also did not share his belief. Niall knew about Donnie’s theft of the painting. Without The Biebs’s knowledge, Niall had arranged for Donnie to send The Biebs a copy of the stolen painting and to retain the actual stolen painting for himself. Harry regularly sold information about The Biebs’s transactions to law enforcement agencies and continued to participate in the gallery business for the sole purpose of his deal with law enforcement. Are The Biebs, Zayn, Niall, and/or Harry guilty of: (a) conspiracy to receive stolen property, (b) receipt of stolen property with respect to the copy of the stolen painting, and/or (c) attempt to receive stolen property with respect to the stolen painting? Discuss.
