Write For Above The Law In The Mornings
Do you know law and jokes? We could use you.
Here’s what I want: somebody with a law degree and a sense of humor to write about the fire hose of news and lay it all out for me and others in bullet point form before I wake up. We’ll even pay for it.
We call this column “Morning Docket,” and it has been a staple of our website since the beginning. It’s the glance of the day’s news that leads our website. In the past, it’s been done by columnists. In fact, the last outside columnist who had the job is… Staci Zaretsky, who you might know as a full-time senior editor who has been working here for eight years now (nine if you count her Docket days). Clearly, we value this position.
If you are interested please send an email to [email protected], subject line: Morning Docket. Attach a cover letter, résumé, and a sample blurb for five stories (click here to see some samples). The only qualification is that you have to basically know what you are talking about, are able to wake up early, and not be boring.
AI Presents Both Opportunities And Risks For Lawyers. Are You Prepared?
These instructions are important. Like, honestly, don’t apply if you can’t write the literal SUBJECT LINE of the email correctly.
Like all of our columnists, this is a paid position. Not, you know, well paid, but still. Above the Law is an equal opportunity employer — which I emphasize just to point out that you can be a Republican if you absolutely must.
There’s a lot going on these days. Help us cover it.
