This weekend, Justice Ruth Bader Ginsburg traveled to New York City to attend the Saturday night performance of What the Constitution Means to Me, an “achingly human” play about the intersection of the U.S. Constitution and women’s rights within America. Of course, as soon as audience members and cast members alike discovered that the Notorious RBG herself was in the house, the scene turned into “an incredible circus.”
The play features one of Justice Ginsburg’s oft-repeated quotes about when she thinks there will be enough women on the Supreme Court: “When will there be enough women on the court? My answer is, when there are nine.”

The “Heidi” that Haugland is referring to is Heidi Schreck, who is not only the show’s Pulitzer-nominated playwright, but also one of its Tony-nominated performers.
