The 2022 U.S. News Law School Rankings Are Here

Check out some of the largest rankings tumbles and gains. Yikes!

With that out of the way, let’s take a peek at the law schools outside of the Top 50, i.e., the law schools that make up the rest of the Top 100, starting with Nos. 52 through 72. This section of the rankings was especially erratic, with two ties, one three-way tie, one five-way tie, one six-way tie, and one seven-way tie. Here we saw three schools rise like phoenixes with a double-digit gains.

Way to go, Tennessee (+10), Wayne State (+11), and Oregon (+16)! Congratulations also go out to Villanova, Oklahoma, and Pittsburgh. Well done! As for the biggest drops in this segment of the rankings, we’ve got UConn (-8), Baylor (-8), Seton Hall (-8), and Loyola Marymount (-10). Ooof.

Moving right along, let’s check out the schools that make up the bottom of the Top 100. This segment of the rankings is the most volatile yet, with one tie, two three-way ties, one four-way tie, and two five-way ties.

Ouch, Rutgers posted a 15-spot drop, the most offensive drop in rank thus far in the 2022 edition the rankings. On the other hand, let’s shine a light on Howard, which deserves recognition for a 16-spot jump that put it into the Top 100 this year. Nice!
