Single Office Firm Matches Salary Scale

More good news.

Choate Hall seems to always find its way on those “great places to work for” lists. Perhaps it’s the one-office outlook that places all the value on the people working right next door. Or maybe staying close to less of a pressure cooker market. Though it might also be a willingness to pay at the top of the Biglaw scale despite staying a tad smaller than its competition.

Hanging out in the high second hundred of the Am Law 200, Choate only boasts around $274,746,000 in revenue, but that’s a deceiving figure. The one-office firm also nets $3,243,000 in profits per partner and has a revenue per lawyer figure north of $1.6 million. Those are numbers the upper crust of the Am Law 50 would take.

We don’t have a memo for Choate, but tipsters have reported a full match of the new scale.

(UPDATE: We’ve now received word that the scale goes up to $375K. We’ve updated the table accordingly)

Comp Year Annual Base Pay
2020 $205,000
2019 $215,000
2018 $240,000
2017 $275,000
2016 $305,000
2015 $330,000
2014 $350,000
2013 $365,000
2012 $375,000

Congrats to all.
