Because the truth is, between the epic lateral market and the special bonuses designed to placate/attract associates, the salary increases are only the latest indication that the Biglaw market is going through some pretty massive changes.
In order to keep up with the Davis Polks, Biglaw firms are now upping compensation for associates. And with $1,310,126,000 in gross revenue in 2020, making it 27th on the Am Law 100 ranking, of course Paul Hastings got in on the action. As expected, the new salary scale for associates at Paul Hastings is as follows, effective July 1:
