Top Ranked Biglaw Firm Hands Out Market Bonuses — But Only For Some Associates

More Biglaw bonus news -- but it isn't great for everyone.

We are pleased to announce that the Firm will increase our annual year-end productivity bonus scale for associates in our California, New York, Texas and Washington, DC offices on behalf of the 2021 performance year.

The revised productivity bonus scale is outlined below.  In recognition of the exceptional contributions made by our associates this year, the Firm will also award a one-time special productivity bonus payment on behalf of 2021, additive to the productivity bonus scale outlined below.  These payments will be reflected in the January 31st payroll for those who achieve the productivity bonus thresholds outlined in the Firm’s compensation policies.

As in past years, the Firm will continue to offer our discretionary bonus program in addition to these year-end productivity bonus amounts, focused on rewarding extraordinary client contributions.

Additionally, we are excited to announce compensation updates for our associates in Denver, Minneapolis and St. Louis.

  • Effective for the 2022 performance year, Denver associates will move to the Firm’s national base compensation and productivity bonus scale.
  • Effective for the 2022 performance year, Minneapolis associates will adopt a new lockstep base compensation scale that will begin at $180,000 for entry level associates, and will move to the national productivity bonus scale.
  • Denver, Minneapolis and St. Louis associates will be eligible for the revised productivity bonus scale above based on achieving certain performance criteria in the 2021 performance year.
