Back in the day, there was one firm that could easily be relied upon to sweeten the year’s bonus pool with the addition of special bonuses. That title now belongs to Davis Polk, but it used to be Sullivan & Cromwell that wore the crown.

After bringing home $1,555,441,000 gross revenue in 2020, the firm came in 18th place in the most recent Am Law 100 ranking. S&C has now spoken out on bonuses, and according to sources, it seems to be following the market (with no additional compensation for high billers, which has some associates miffed).

Here’s what he prevailing market scale for bonuses looks like:

Bonuses at the firm will hit bank accounts on December 20. Congratulations to all Sullivan & Cromwell associates!
