First Biglaw Firm Matches The New Milbank Salary Scale

They're sticking to their commitment to be at the top of the compensation market.

It was only this morning that Milbank announced they were upping the stakes in the battle for the hearts and minds (and billable hours) of associates by increasing the compensation scale by an impressive $10,000 to $20,000, depending on class year. Now Cadwalader announced they will be matching that new compensation grid. And as multiple Above the Law tipsters noted, folks at the firm are pretty jazzed at how quickly they issued the match.

The new salary scale at Cadwalader is as follows:

Class Old Salary New Salary
Class of 2021 $205K $215K
Class of 2020 $215K $225K
Class of 2019 $240K $250K
Class of 2018 $275K $285K
Class of 2017 $305K $325K
Class of 2016 $330K $350K
Class of 2015 $350K $370K
Class of 2014+ $365K $385K

And the raises will be retroactive to January 1.
