Builders Capital: Corporate Counsel
The Company: Builders Capital is using technology to revolutionize the construction finance industry. It designs and executes financing solutions for builders and developers nationwide, supported by a proprietary technology platform that streamlines the entire relationship from application to funding requests to payoffs.
The Job: The Corporate Counsel will work primarily with the loan production and servicing teams on underwriting, title encumbrance, and loan documentation issues. The Counsel will also participate in transactional due diligence and research jurisdiction-specific issues and opportunities in coordination with outside counsel.
The Successful Candidate: Should have 2+ years of legal experience and a strong background in construction or real estate finance. Although the position is based in the Builders Capital corporate office in suburban Seattle, up to 60% remote work will be considered.
Specific Qualifications:
- D. and membership in good standing in at least one State Bar;
- 2+ years’ legal work with a highly regarded law firm or prominent commercial lender;
- Strong background in construction and/or real estate finance and an understanding of the business considerations relevant to the construction industry;
- Experience with title encumbrance and insurance issues, including familiarity with commercial lender title endorsements, is a plus; and
- Process-oriented, with the ability and desire to identify, develop, and implement efficiencies and improvements.
