Love will be in the air in the nation’s capital this coming fall, when Naomi Biden, an associate at Arnold & Porter Kaye Scholer, marries her longtime boyfriend. Biden, of course, is granddaughter to President Joe Biden, and earlier this week, she announced on Twitter that the affair would be taking place at the White House.
Peter and I are endlessly grateful to my Nana and Pop for the opportunity to celebrate our wedding at the White House. We can’t wait to make our commitment to one another official and for what lies ahead.

But who is this Peter character that the president’s granddaughter is planning to marry? Let’s dig in.
According to the New York Times, Naomi’s future husband is Peter Neal of Jackson Hole, Wyoming. Neal is a third-year student in his final semester at Penn Law. You may recognize his name as one of the creators of My CARES Act Benefits, an online quiz that calculates eligibility for federal relief. (Neal’s co-creator in this public-interest endeavor? His future wife, Naomi. Aww!) Per his LinkedIn profile, he spent the past summer working as an associate at Cooley. Assuming he received an offer, that would be awfully convenient because the firm just so happens to have an office in D.C.
While the location for their ceremony has not yet been announced, the couple’s reception will be held at the White House on November 19. The last wedding reception for a presidential family member to have been held there was in June 2008, in celebration of Jenna Bush’s marriage to Henry Hager.
