MyCase builds most of their most mission-critical features in-house, so they can help you maximize efficiency throughout the case management lifecycle. In addition to creating an intuitive system for managing the day-to-day aspects of all your matters, MyCase has excelled in making it easier than ever to get paid – a crucial thing for any law firm that wants to succeed and grow as a business. They’ve also mastered the integrations that enable you to work how, when, and where you want to work, allowing you to continue to use the apps you love and be the most productive and efficient lawyer you can be.

Discover the Ease of Universal Payments

Getting paid is one of the most critical aspects to business success, but the tasks that go into actually getting paid are typically ones that cause lawyers the most headaches. Let’s face it: you want to spend time practicing law and helping your clients, not navigating billing issues or chasing down invoice payments.

MyCase understands, and that’s why they’ve incorporated a number of easy payment features into a payment platform that exists in the same place where you manage your matters. One of the most hassle-free payment methods MyCase has created is Universal Payments.

In an ideal world, formal invoicing processes would go off without a hitch and everyone would be paid what they were owed exactly when they were owed it. However, we all know that’s not the reality of legal practice.

Sometimes, collecting payments on the go is just easier for everyone involved, particularly for things like retainers or consultation fees. In line with that reality, and with MyCase’s goal of making it as easy as possible for your clients to pay you, they’ve created a Universal Payment Link, which is a simple URL link that allows clients to pay instantly and lawyers to passively receive payments, no invoicing or other administrative steps required.

Setting up your Universal Payment Link is easy, and you do it right in the MyCase platform. MyCase creates a link that’s unique to your firm. The only thing you need to do is select which trust account you want payments from your link to be deposited into.

When your client clicks on the link, they’ll be directed to a payment page that guides them through making a quick and easy payment.

Clients can use the universal payment link to make a one-time payment via credit card on the fly. You can send them the link directly, or embed it on your website, in your email signature, or wherever else you think it will be easy for your clients to find it. MyCase will design a Payment button for you and guide you through exactly how to have that button appear where you want it.

Payments made via your Universal Payment Link are recorded directly into MyCase, without you having to prepare an invoice, designate an account, or do anything else that’s typically required in the formal invoicing process. After the payment comes through, you can reconcile it to its relevant matter at your convenience through your Reconciliation tab in MyCase.

Just pick the relevant matter or account in MyCase where you want to direct the payment, click Reconcile Account, and you’re done.

No complicated billing back-and-forth, no worries about making sure payments end up in the right place – MyCase’s Universal Payment feature is truly the easiest and fastest way to collect money from your client and get on with your work.

MyCase Integrates With Your Favorite Tools

Any legal technology, particularly a tool that you use to manage all of your matters, can only truly claim to boost efficiency across the board if it works the way you work. That means one thing: integrations.

When it comes to integrations, MyCase more than delivers. Even before we were all working from home, lawyers were mobile, handling all aspects of day-to-day legal practice on the go between meetings, from airports, at conferences, and even all too often from vacation. If tools don’t work how, when, and where you’re working, how useful are they really?

MyCase allows you to get your work done wherever you are by integrating with some of the top third-party tools on the market. Most lawyers have spent years fine tuning a collection of the tools they need to get their work done in the most accurate and efficient way possible. With MyCase, those tools can be integrated seamlessly with your practice management software, allowing you to do everything all in one place, whether you’re at the office on your computer or anywhere else.

MyCase integrates with the following best-in-class tools, among others:

  • Outlook: MyCase allows you to log Outlook emails and calendar entries directly in your matter management platform
  • Google Calendar: MyCase supports two-way syncing of calendar information with Google
  • Microsoft products: MyCase allows for direct logging of emails and contact information into your matter management tool from Office 365 and Exchange
  • Commercial email platforms: MyCase lets you log emails and contact information directly into your matter management tool from Gmail or Yahoo!
  • Dropbox: MyCase enables simple document organization by integrating with Dropbox
  • QuickBooks: MyCase integrates with QuickBooks so you can quickly and easily export financial information from your matter management system directly into your QuickBooks online account
  • Mailchimp: MyCase syncs your contacts’ information directly into Mailchimp to avoid duplicate data entry
  • LEX Reception: MyCase integrates with LEX Reception to easily log prospective client’s details in MyCase

These are only some of the major integrations offered by MyCase that make your ability to practice seamless. Other key third-party integrations include, Calendar Rules, Smith.ai, and more.

Increased Document Management Capabilities

MyCase is continually innovating and honing its tools to make matter management even easier and more efficient. To that end, they’re soon releasing a new MyCase Drive feature that offers more functionality than ever when it comes to managing your documents.

The new MyCase Drive allows MyCase to integrate directly with the file creation and management tools you likely use most often on your computer – File Explorer on PC or Finder on Mac. You can access documents stored on these drives via the cloud and do anything you’d usually do on your computer directly in MyCase Drive.

Each folder represents a matter in MyCase. While these folders, subfolders, and documents used to only be available via the web, now you can access them directly from your desktop where you’re already working. You can save documents directly into case folders, organize documents by dragging and dropping, upload case documents directly into Adobe Pro or your court’s e-filing system, directly save documents that you’ve scanned in or downloaded from email, upload entire folders of documents into a MyCase folder from Dropbox or your desktop, and much more. You can always preview the documents to make sure you have the right ones before doing any migration.

In the future, MyCase Drive will expand to offer even more functionality, including two-way syncing between your desktop and MyCase. That means any changes you make on a document in your desktop will be automatically reflected in that document stored in MyCase and vice versa. You’ll never again have to worry that the document you’re working in might not be the most up-to-date version, regardless of where you’re working on it.

MyCase Drive offers flexibility in file naming and folder structuring, so your documents will always be organized and visible in the way you’re used to. It’s just one more way that MyCase is committed to working the way lawyers work.

Whether you’re looking for an easier way to collect payments or a more sophisticated way to manage your documents, MyCase has you covered. When you want superior matter management from start to finish, you want MyCase.
