The law practice company MyCase also unveiled a new offering today in the form of MyCase Drive, streamlining the editing process by removing the burden from users to upload or download files from different locations, automatically syncing everything between computers and storing the whole thing in a centralized cloud. Family law attorney Jennifer Joyce Tompkins said of the new product, “On a weekly basis, we probably save 6-8 hours using MyCase Drive,” a testament to how much time is lost on repetitive organizational tasks.

For firms currently using services like Dropbox, MyCase Drive endeavors to be the ideal and logical replacement, offering unlimited storage and bringing the service under the same umbrella as the rest of the practice management suite. Per LawSites coverage of the announcement, the company is offering a 10-day free trial of new offering, “after which use of the feature requires a user to be a subscriber to MyCase’s ‘Advanced’ subscription tier, which is $79 per user per month.”

“MyCase is continually innovating and honing its tools to make matter and document management even easier and more efficient for law firms,” said Jim McGinnis, CEO of MyCase. “We leveraged customer feedback and learned that streamlined document management is essential for law firms. In response, we developed MyCase Drive, an all-encompassing, seamless document management solution.”

In a world where people are going to increasingly work from everywhere, automatically organizing files in one accessible home is a win-win proposition for lawyers.

Let’s also take a second to focus on the aesthetic changes.

MyCase unveiled a new website design are intended “a simplified, user-friendly experience that mirrors the intuitiveness that has always been the hallmark of MyCase’s law practice management software,” according to the company.

So… introducing some serifs back into our lives. Should we be accenting the tail half of the name? I’ve been saying “mycase” but maybe it’s more “myCASE”?

But I’m most sad that we’ll be saying goodbye to “High-Fiving Lawyer Buddy”:

The logo always reminded me of Pit-Pat from that Mr. Show sketch: “a magical, pansexual, non-threatening spokesthing.”

Farewell, Lawyer Buddy.
