[S]he’ll be a partner soon. No firm would allow her to have a role in a big trial like this if she wasn’t on the partner track. There are two factors that go into making a partner — your quality of lawyering and ability to attract business. She can probably go anywhere and make a nice deal for herself.

— Celebrity lawyer Judd Burstein, who represents Nicki Minaj, commenting with a hint of clairvoyance on the star power of Brown Rudnick’s Camille Vasquez, whose zealous representation of Johnny Depp in his defamation case against Amber Heard not only earned her a huge fan following online, but a favorable verdict for the actor. When the trial took place, Vasquez was a senior associate, and sources told the New York Post that law firms were “fighting to be the highest bidder for Camille to join their team.” Brown Rudnick had this to say: “[The firm is] thrilled that so many people are seeing what we’ve known for years: that Camille Vasquez is a star. We were always confident that she had what it takes to succeed on this stage. That’s why she is a key member of the trial team and has a bright future with us.” As it turns out, Vasquez’s bio page now lists her as one of the firm’s partners. Congratulations to Camille Vasquez on this accomplishment!
