Bonus news is a great distraction from the Supreme Court!

Harper, terrified about what the independent state legislature theory being advanced by petitioners means for the future of American democracy? If so, you could probably use a break from angrily scrolling Twitter over the whiplash treatment conservatives are now giving states’ rights now that it no longer serves their political goals. Let me suggest some happy Biglaw bonus news.

Kramer Levin, a firm that took in $449,000,000 in gross revenue last year, announced their own bonus grid earlier today. As you might expect, the firm is matching the prevailing market standard, set by Baker McKenzie last month.

The scale, in case you’ve forgotten it, is as follows:

The firm also included those in their stump year — that is the class of 2022 — in the bonus news. They noted, “Members of the 2022 Associate Class, regardless of their actual start date, will receive a bonus of $15,000 prorated to October 1, 2022.” Also not left out of the bonus fun are counsel. In a separate memo, the firm announced counsel are “eligible for year-end bonuses in amounts up to $120,000.”

Bonuses will be paid by February 15th. You can read both memos on the next page

Remember everyone, we depend on your tips to stay on top of important bonus updates, so when your firm matches, please text us (646-820-8477) or email us (subject line: “[Firm Name] Matches”). Please include the memo if available. You can take a photo of the memo and send it via text or email if you don’t want to forward the original PDF or Word file.
