That’s from Sting’s Fields of Gold, which was the best gimmick I could come up with for Freshfields.
As gimmicks go, it’s not bad: it’s got “fields” and associates are definitely putting aside any jealousies to enjoy a kind of gold. Could I have worked in “magic” somehow? Maybe… that’s definitely a weakness here. I’m giving myself an A- on this one.
These bad puns and pop culture references are really the only thing that gets me motivated covering Biglaw in December.
Anyway, yeah, Freshfields has matched the emerging bonus consensus. This is the first Magic Circle firm we’ve heard match so far, which means we’re shifting over to the G200 ranking where Freshfields places 17th with $2,341,256,000 in gross revenue at last check.
And without further ado, here are the bonuses that associates in the firm’s US offices will be getting on December 15:
