Millennial Biglaw Associates Really Want To Become Millennial Biglaw Partners

‘We made partner!’

Ed. note: Welcome to our daily feature, Quote of the Day.

Millennial attorneys are getting older, so partnership is easier to see, and it’s a closer ring for them to achieve. Another issue is where we’re sitting in the economy right now. A lot of millennial attorneys have seen folks go in-house and be unhappy, or be unhappy in compensation, or get laid off. That is also a big factor.

Ru Bhatt, a partner at Major, Lindsey & Africa in New York, commenting on the results of a survey on millennial lawyers’ perspectives created by MLA and Above the Law, which found that nearly 45% of associates said they would like to make partner at their firms (up from 23.5% in 2021).
