All Lawyers and Business Professionals,

Beginning September 11, we are moving to a four day in-office schedule. Lawyers and business professionals may elect to work from the office a minimum of either Monday to Thursday, or Tuesday to Friday, with flexibility as to whether Monday or Friday is the one day each week that can be worked remotely (with manager approval for business professionals). If you currently have an approved fully-remote work arrangement, that status will not change.

Over the past two years, as we emerged from the pandemic, we have worked to balance the dual goals of maximizing our time together in the office while also embracing remote flexibility. In recent months, the legal and professional services market has shifted with a growing number of firms – as well as clients – moving to a four-day model. We also continue to hear from many of you that some of the connectivity that we highly value is jeopardized when a substantial number of our people are away from the office on any given day. As has always been the case, we support remote flexibility when the situation calls for it and ask that you use your best judgment in consultation with your team.

Thank you for helping us navigate the last three years. We have always believed that V&E’s unique culture of teamwork and collaboration – and the development of our talent – is strongest when we spend time together in-person.

If you have any questions regarding the upcoming change, please reach out to your Practice Group Leader, Talent/Diversity Lead, your manager or your office Human Resources professional.
