Has The Galaxy Bar Association Struck Before?
The Galaxy Bar Association tried to intervene in Trump's criminal case and it looks like they tried to get in on Disney v. DeSantis too!
Earlier this week, Judge Tanya Chutkan stiff armed a bunch of potential amici in Donald Trump’s DC criminal case. One of the applicants she shunted purported to be the “Galaxy Bar Association,” robbing us of a no doubt sterling account of how the Prime Directive exonerates the former president.
We couldn’t find any further GBA web presence, but a diligent tipster found some sound and fury signifying nothing — as in, a bunch of filings all stricken by the judge — that might be the work of our favorite extraterrestrial attorneys.
In the Disney v. DeSantis case, where the failing GOP candidate has run afoul of basic Constitutional law, an entity called “Transition Processing Forward” listed its contact information as “C/O Galaxy Bar Association.”

Could this be our mystery filer?
Recall that the Disney case challenges the Florida government’s bid to void legally binding contracts between the Reedy Creek special tax district and Disney executed before DeSantis replaced the Reedy Creek leadership with hand-picked (and sometimes illegal!) cronies as part of a clunky bid to punish Disney for admitting that gay people exist.
Florida is weird, man.
Anyway, given that posture, here’s what the filing asserted:

I think this is accusing DeSantis of crimes against children because he was a performative anti-masker at the height of COVID. Which makes DeSantis guilty of being a scumbag, but probably doesn’t meet the elements of 3283. And in any event isn’t relevant to the Disney case.
Ditto the later paragraphs focusing on DeSantis ripping off Florida taxpayers to kidnap people. The filing seems to have a sense that injustices exist, but can’t get articulate an actionable legal way of dealing with it.
While the filing in DC purported to be in Trump’s defense, it’s possible that “as to Donald Trump” on the docket meant a general venting of thoughts about Trump that wouldn’t prove as friendly.
Assuming this is the same Galaxy Bar Association that is.
