The 2024-2025 U.S. News Law School Rankings Are Here

Big changes in the T14, along with some of the largest rankings tumbles and gains.

With that out of the way, let’s take a peek at the law schools outside of the Top 50, i.e., the law schools that make up the rest of the Top 100, starting with Nos. 52 through 75. This section of the rankings was especially erratic, with six ties (two ties, one three-way tie, one five-way tie, one six-way tie, and one seven-way tie). Here we saw three several schools soar with a double-digit gains, and a few drop by quite a bit.

Way to go, Missouri (+10), Penn State-University Park (+12), Penn State-Dickinson (+14), and UConn (+16)! As for the biggest drops in this segment of the rankings, we’ve got Pepperdine (-7), Florida International (-8), St. John’s (-8), and Houston (-8). That drop by Pepperdine launched the school out of the Top 50. Ooof.

Moving right along, let’s check out the schools that make up the bottom of the Top 98. This segment is the most volatile yet, with two ties, two four-way ties, one five-way tie, and one seven-way tie.

Hoooo, boy! These are some of the most offensive drops in rank thus far in the 2024-2025 rankings, right along with some of the biggest gains. Here we have three double-digit drops, and UC San Francisco has one of the largest drops yet, down 22 spots. On the flip side of the coin, we have schools like UNLV (+11) and Belmont (+14) climbing the rankings, with and Catholic coming in with the largest gain of all thus far, with a 28-spot increase.
