Arrest Made In Fatal Shooting Of Biglaw Associate

The late associate's law firm referred to him as 'a hero among us.'

Handcuffs and FingerprintsLast week, a Biglaw associate was shot and killed outside of a Houston, Texas, McDonald’s after he tried to de-escalate a dispute at the fast-food restaurant. Now, an arrest has been made, and the alleged assailant has been charged with murder.

The suspect, Anthony Martin Landry, 57, has been charged with murder in the untimely death of Lewis Brisbois Bisgaard & Smith associate Jeffrey Limmer, 46. As noted by the ABA Journal, Landry turned himself in to police in the days following the shooting. He remains in jail at this time, and has yet to enter a plea.

Per Law360, Lewis Brisbois offered a statement on Limmer’s death:

“We at Lewis Brisbois remain heartbroken over the loss of our friend and colleague Jeffrey Limmer. We offer our sincere gratitude to the many law enforcement agencies and officers whose hard work, collaboration, and commitment to the safety and security of our community resulted in the suspect in Jeff’s murder being identified and apprehended.”

Referring to the late associate as “a hero among us,” the Am Law 100 firm plans to establish a scholarship in Limmer’s name at his alma mater, the South Texas College of Law.

We here at Above the Law continue to extend our condolences to Jeffrey Limmer’s family, friends, and colleagues during this difficult time.
