Elizabeth Soderberg, senior director of Los Angeles-based legal recruitment firm Lateral Link, in comments given to The Recorder on the prospect of Biglaw firms following Hueston Hennigan’s lead and offering summer bonuses to associates. The elite boutique recently announced that it would be rewarding associates with summer bonuses ranging from from $10,000 to $25,000, based on hours. “[M]y gut is that its purpose is simply retention and recruiting,” she continued. “It looks good to throw money around.”
