— Former President Donald Trump, in comments given to conservative podcast host Hugh Hewitt, when asked what he would do if he were reelected and had to choose between firing special counsel Jack Smith or pardoning himself. Smith is leading the Justice Department’s investigation into Trump’s attempt to overturn the 2020 presidential election as well as his mishandling of classified documents.
