Top Biglaw Firm Names Its First Black Firmwide Managing Partner

He joins a handful of other Black lawyers who are successfully leading Am Law 200 firms.

Frank Ryan, global co-chair of DLA Piper, in a statement given concerning Gerry Williams, who was recently named as co-US managing partner of the firm. Williams, who is a member of DLA’s global board, its U.S. executive and policy committees, and also serves as vice chair of DLA’s private equity group in the Southeast, is the first Black firmwide managing partner at DLA.
