Hello Faculty and Staff:
I wanted to provide some information on the cockroaches we are seeing in the Law Building. The main issue, currently, is the increased level at which they are appearing in the Law Building and, from what I am hearing, other buildings this side of campus.
For faculty and staff who joined the law school after we vacated the old building in 2017, these roaches are an unfortunate, historical part of UK buildings. We were told to expect their return after the 2019 rebuild of our current building. For whatever reasons, they did not return to historical levels until the last year and arguably have increased since spring.
From ‘Vendor’ To ‘Partner’: How LexisNexis Is Deepening Law Firm Relationships
The company is emphasizing ‘white glove service’ in the AI era. Here’s what the initiative is delivering for clients.
We were initially able to call in every sighting to request Orkin, UK’s pest control contractor, to respond. Orkin was responding several times a week, sometimes daily, for us. Orkin is no longer to able to come at that frequency but UK Facilities has approved Orkin’s request to treat the Law Building (and some others) once a week instead of the previous 1-2 times a month to get these bugs under control. Orkin also implemented a physical log system for the Law Building that Orkin checks each week when they come our building to treat. This log identifies the rooms and areas where the roaches, along with any other bugs(e.g. ants), have been reported.
