In a move surely intended to boost esprit de corps — either by showing the troops that even the boss can have a little fun, or by inviting attorneys to embrace catharsis — a Biglaw leader allowed himself to get smacked in the face with a pie and we have video, because of course we do.
The backstory isn’t exactly clear. For example, we have no idea why the woman takes the shortcut in what seems to be a pie throwing contest, but from what we’ve been told, that’s Andrew Sandler, Chairman and Executive Partner of Buckley Sandler, getting one right in the kisser.

Sandler took the hit (from partner Jonice Gray Tucker) as part of “Pie a Partner for Legal Aid” — a fundraising effort put on by Buckley Sandler as part of our contributions to the 2017 Generous Associates Campaign.
Lawyers and staff at the firm bid on the opportunity to plant a pie in face of 13 participating partners – who then had the option to return the favor by tripling the amount bid. In all, the firm raised more than $21,000 for Legal Aid.
No partners were injured during the taping of this event, but there was a carpet that needed serious cleaning.
UPDATE: Damn. This was a successful fundraiser. Legal Aid got $25,000 out of Buckley as part of an overall $1.79 million campaign.
