2017 may be over, but that doesn’t mean there isn’t still stuff to say about it. Law firm financials for 2017 are starting to be released, and Law.com — in anticipation of the annual release of the Am Law rankings — has begun collecting all the juicy tidbits.
One of the most interesting stories in the data so far is all the firms that are recording record-breaking revenue. The industry might be experiencing an overall malaise, but the rich — and profitable — law firms keep getting richer. Against this backdrop, there are an astonishing nine firms so far that have reported over a billion — yup, with a B — dollars in gross revenue. There’s even one that has posted over $2 billion in revenue for 2017. (This list will continue to grow as Law.com covers more firms.)
There’s little Above the Law readers love more than stories about money, so here, without further ado, are the firms that have reported more than a billion dollars in revenue last year, based on the law firm financials covered to date.
