At one point during the hearing, William Consovoy of Consovoy McCarthy, counsel to the president, wondered about the secrecy of the grand jury proceedings, mentioning that there could be potential leaks. Marrero made this statement as he ordered representatives for Manhattan DA Cyrus Vance Jr. and Trump to talk and see if some of the subpoenaed documents could be turned over without further court intervention.
