Remote Patent Associate or Patent Agent – AI / Machine Learning

Our client, a renowned IP boutique law firm, is seeking an associate and a patent agent with an electrical engineering, computer science, artificial intelligence or data science educational background. The winning candidate will have 3-10 years of direct experience drafting and prosecuting a high number of patent applications in a law firm and/or corporate setting. Furthermore:A background preparing and prosecuting applications in one or more of the following technical areas: artificial intelligence, machine learning, software, computer hardware and computer architectureAn electrical engineering, computer science, artificial intelligence or data science educational backgroundAn advanced degree in any of the above areas is a plusExperience as a USPTO Examiner is a plusHigh level of comfort performing all aspects of prosecuting patent applications before the USPTO, including drafting applications, responding to office actions, and interviewing patent examinersSignificant experience with all, or a majority of, the following:managing multiple active patent portfolios, domestically and internationallyrepresenting both start-up and mature companiespreparing and prosecuting many inter-related patent applicationsfiling procedures and formalitiesworking with foreign counsel to prosecute foreign patent applicationsproject and budget management of large patent portfoliospreparing design guidance, non-infringement, and invalidity opinionsExcellent written and oral communication skillsLiaising and working directly with clients and/or responsible business teamsProven ability to work effectively and collaboratively in a team settingExperience working remotely, combined with occasional travelUSPTO RegistrationAn entrepreneurial spiritThis is an awesome opportunity to work with some of the best patent lawyers in the business in the field of AI/ML.
